Benazir Kafalat Program 13500

The Benazir Kafalat Programme is the largest social safety net of Pakistan under the Benazir Income Support Programme that is presently giving assistance to 10 million women. BISP is going to expand this count further in coming months. This must be recalled that it is a social safety net programme in which women belonging to poor and deserving families are given cash subsidy of Rs.13,500 quarterly. To remind you, this program was initiated by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto, but then it was only for widows. Considering the time and requirement, its scope was once again extended, and now this program can be availed by common women from poor families as well.

Now, the motive of this article is to update you about the registration of this program because BISP has officially initiated the new registration of the Kafalat program. Then, poor and deserving women belonging to below-poverty-line families and who do not possess any means to survive can participate in this program and receive cash assistance quarterly.

Thus, if you too belong to these qualifying women, then you can quite simply do your registration according to the directions mentioned in this article. I shall here offer you the whole procedure of registration, all instructions necessary, and other information in detail.

Eligibility Criteria For Enrollment In The Kafalat Program

Now let us proceed to the article and first see what is the eligibility criteria, since it is highly essential for the women who wish to become a part of the kafalat program to understand whether they qualify for it or not. It should be noted that BISP has established some particular criteria to become a part of the kafalat program. Only women can become a part of this program who fulfill these pre-established criteria, which are as follows:

The female applicant should be a permanent Pakistani citizen and possess a National Identity Card. She should not have been enrolled in any other aid program or disqualified from any aid scheme. She should not own any property or vehicle in her name. She should not be working in any government department or retired from any government department. Her spouse or children cannot be in the government sector. Also, the family’s monthly income should not exceed Rs.40,000, the lady should have never gone abroad, and she cannot be engaged in any unlawful practice.

These are the particular requirements that women need to fulfill in order to qualify for the kafalat program. Nevertheless, note that there is no requirement for registration, and so any woman may apply, but the eligibility is determined after registration is done.

Procedure And Necessary Instructions For Completing Registration

First, discuss the procedure for filling the registration. In this context, most women mistakenly believe that they need to register individually after answering the survey. It should be made clear in this context that the procedure for answering the NSER survey itself is part of the registration under the Benazir Kafalat program. I.e., if you have filled in your survey, it implies that you have also completed your registration, and then there will be a determination of eligibility. Therefore, it is not necessary to get confused on this issue.

Now the question comes of how this survey is done. BISP has established registration centers in each tehsil of the country, where women can visit and fill their NSER survey. One has to bring the identity card and children’s B form for the survey. Moreover, BISP has also provided some important instructions to be kept in mind while taking the survey, which have to be followed:

Always carry accurate information so that your eligibility can be correctly determined.
B Form is required for children below 18 years of age and CNIC for those above 18 years of age.
Widows or divorced women are required to update their marital status in NADRA. If there is an electricity or gas connection in the house, it would be preferable to bring its bill along.

An existing mobile phone number in your name is required; otherwise, the survey will be incomplete.
In case the address given on the CNIC is changed, then write the updated address on a plain sheet of paper and carry it with you. Data concerning the existing assets and other details in the household should be finalized.

Important Note: Once the survey is over, the BISP team comes to the location and checks if the information provided is accurate or not. If any individual provides false information, not only can a legal case be initiated but the household can be disqualified forever. So, always provide accurate and genuine information.

Which Women Can Take The Survey And Is There A Charge To Take The Survey?

Now at last, let’s discuss which women are able to complete their survey. As per the recent updates of BISP, only the female head of the household is able to complete the survey. If she is eligible on all the eligibility criteria, then financial assistance is also given to that woman only. Other than this, other family members are unable to register for this survey.

Is a fee paid to take the survey?

This is a general question, and it should be made clear in this context that BISP does not incur any type of fee for taking the survey. That is, this is an absolutely free process, and there is no need for anybody to pay any amount of money for it.

If anybody demands a fee from you to fill out the survey, report it to the BISP helpline or the nearest office at once. He can be proceeded against legally because the government has given strict instructions to maintain transparency and freedom in the survey process.

So, if you or your friend is interested in being a part of this program, go to your nearest BISP office and fill the survey without any cost and don’t be a victim of any scam.
