Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Laptop Scheme
On March 13, 2025, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif the Punjab Chief Minister Laptop Scheme, the distribution of 50,000 laptops to deserving students of the province is started. The scheme is urging digital literacy and encouraging academic excellence by distributing the latest 13th-generation Core i7 laptops.
Students will receive 32 % laptop in the month of Ramzan. Computer Science, Medicine, Science, Engineering, Social Science, Business Language, veterinary Science and agriculture students are to receive laptops under this scheme. Eligibility Criteria for Cm Laptop Scheme
To qualify for the CM Laptop Scheme students must meet the eligibility criteria given below:
Academic Requirements
- University Students
- Should be studying in a public sector university of Punjab.
- College Students
- Should be enrolled in a government college of Punjab.
- Technical & Vocational Students
- Studying in recognized technical and vocational institutes.
- Medical & Dental Students
- Studying in public medical or dental colleges.
- Students Marks Requirements
- 65% and above in the last yearly exam or 3.0 CGPA on a scale of 4.0.
Eligible Degree Levels
- Students in matriculation (10th grade) at government schools.
- Intermediate (11th & 12th grade) students in public institutions.
- Undergraduate & Postgraduate (BS, MS/M.Phil., PhD) students at HEC-approved public universities
Special Allocations
- Minority Students
- 2,000 laptops are held for them
- South Punjab Students
- 32% of the total laptops are reserved for South Punjab students.
- Disabled Students
- Separate quota for disabled students.
Domicile
- Students must have domicile of Punjab.
Age Limit
- Applicant’s age should not exceed from 22 years
Family Income
- Family Income should be less than 300,000(affidavit needed)
Ineligibility Conditions
- Private university and college students ARE NOT eligible
How to Check Eligibility?
Students DO NOT need to apply online. Instead, their respective institutions will shortlist eligible candidates on the basis of academic performance Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC) will cross-check the final merit lists before distributing laptops.
Registration Process for CM Laptop Scheme
Unlike past years, the Punjab government has declared that there will be no online application portal for the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025.
- Instead, educational institutions will collect the data of selected students directly.
- The institutions will enter their lists of selected students in the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab.
- Then, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab will verify and publish the final list of selected students.
- Eligible students can simply get themselves registered in the scheme using the official portal of the laptop scheme.
CM Laptop Distribution Date
The distribution is set to begin after the month of Ramadan 2025, following the interview of prospective students for the program in February, with laptop distribution expected in April/May of this year.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has revealed that the initial shipment of computers has arrived in Pakistan, awaiting which she will organize ceremonies in various cities to distribute laptops under the Honhaar scholarship program. The initiative will help gifted students in various parts of the province, including minorities and rural students.
